Civil War: Wayne Guards – Company H – Bucktails – 42nd PA Inf.

Company H of the well-known Bucktails regiment was recruited in the Kennett area by Charles Frederick Taylor, the younger brother of Bayard Taylor the author. They were called the Quaker Company by the rest of the regiment, as they were mostly Quaker farmers and artisans.1Harper, Douglas. If Thee Must Fight.
