Eagle Tavern

The Eagle Tavern was first granted a liquor license in 1727, rapidly becoming a popular stopping point for travelers. The original building was torn down in 1799. Its replacement was first called the “President Adams”, but locals still used the old name and the name was eventually changed back.

Over the years, the tavern has been known as the “Little Eagle”, the “Spread Eagle”, and the “Eagle Hotel” and among other famous visitors, is said to have been frequented by the Doan brothers and Captain Fitz (aka Sandy Flash).

The property is now Bloom Coutnry Kitchen.
